Your first Challenge: Say no to the plastic bags at check out and get used to bring your reusable bag
An extra step now would be to use your own reusable mesh produce bags to avoid the thin plastic bags for the fresh produce.
Don't be afraid of germs or crosscontaminations if you buy unwrapped fresh produce. Pre cut and wrapped stuff is much more likely to get in contact with germs because they are going through way more hands, production steps than unwrapped. And you will most likely wash, peel or cook your veggies/fruits before you eat them anyway. So no concerns.
You are asking yourself why you should say no to a plastic bag?
If you think you have a little free time in between, start to look for plastic free packaged alternatives... We will talk about that soon, because it's the next step, the challenge for February.
