Street Food Festival in Tallinn, Estonia
At the weekend we´ve been to a street food festival in Tallinn. It was great to see that most of the street food trucks avoided plastic cutlery and the plates were all made of paper. The only thing that wasn´t too cool has been the cups for drinks. All single use plastics and a lot of plastic straws. But hey I´m starting to get out of my comfort zone and want to make a change, so first of all I had my reusable cup with me and second I wrote an email to the organizer and wrote a nice mail with a few suggestions what could have made the event greener (stamps, paper straws, reusable cups). He answered real nice, and explained about some choices (even the tax board makes some greener choices nearly impossible, the organizers needed plastic bracelets for the entry , the tax board did not accept stamps so easy!) and even told me I should write him again if I see any great solutions at other festivals or events.
So you see if you are aware about your surroundings, you can even try to make people aware and give some tipps and solutions if you know any.
I hope you guys had a great weekend and if you know any great greener solutions for entry bracelets, etc. let me know in the comments.
